Hello, I'm new to the fireblades and the forum. I was wondering if anyone has disconnected the electronic steering damper and fitted an Ohlins, or the like, forkleg mounted damper? Yesterday was our first day out on the bike and getting it to change direction was a problem through fast sections of the track. Any feedback would be much appreciated . Thanks

    i've had/got both.

tbh i've never had an issue with the standard damper, seems to work well on track even on bumpy surfaces, the issue is you have no input on the adjustment with out the hrc ecu+s/w.

i also ran my other blade at the same time with the ohlins, which is good as you can set up as stiff or loose as you like, but wouldn't bother taking off the the standard if it didn't have the ohlins on it.

i've sold both bikes now anyway, but do have the ohlins damper for sale if your interested, has the full fitting kit inc. fork clamp etc.pm me if your interested, got pics here.

Suprised at scoobys good experience with the standard one. I personally hated it. Had a few moments on the blade last year one at mallory and one at donington where I really thought it was game over. Obviously there's other variables like suspension setup and riding style but I decided to get rid and buy a GPR stabilizer. Haven't ridden with it yet but it seems a really solid piece of kit. I will let you know how it goes...
