Crash bungs

    Hey everyone,

    Has anyone got the No Cut Frame Sliders (Pic one, non R&G) on their bike? 2006 model if possible. If so, what are they like as opposed to the ever so popular R&G (cut type) crash bungs. I'm a bit dubious as they look as though they don't protrude as far.
    Plus if you have, any pics would help.

    Personally I don’t like crash bungs, if I had some I’d go for none drill and probably go for a reputable name. Should the worst come to the worst and the bike falls or goes down the road it’s the worst time to realise you’ve got an inferior product on the bike.

    I’m not saying these are s*** as I have zero experience but I’m a great believer in “you get what you pay for”

    And if you go for the none RG ones and they don’t protrude far enough I can always machine you a longer set ;)

    The quality of the bung is only half the problem. The other is the strength of the bracket they attach too.
    I've tested a few R&G bungs. They are pretty much a one shot deal, but you can rely on the R&G bolt to keep hold of the bung without folding. Plus if length is an issue (insert joke here) then you can add ally spacers to adjust how much they stick out.

    They look like they have too many moving parts compared to the RnG ones. No matter how much you tighten them up, Chances are they'll move should they come into contact with the floor at speed. There's no way they'll save your fairings should you end up throwing it down the road!

    I'd be more inclined to go for engine case cover like GB racing if you're trying to reduce the risk of damage.

    @Muffking , I know the quality of R&G bungs first hand, so I know they are good stuff. Had an off on a previous bike and the bung on the right side saved the rest of the bike and pretty much my leg. The bung wore down and the bolt bent.
    I've got them on the bike now, but got something in the pipeline and was looking at what alternatives are out there.

    Yup, R&G do work - saved my fairings but the mounting bracket did need some welding

    Last summer my mates gsxr was saved by his bungs front and rear. Very very slight damage to bike but the bungs were wrecked. Would of been a right off without them.
    They’re not particularly pretty but I’m sure he was glad he had them installed.

    I know bungs can save the bike, as I've been witness to this.
    But the main question I'm asking is if anyone has the no cut bungs (first picture) fitted to their bike?

    My ones are no cut. Same bungs but different mount as I have the 2014 model

    Oh ok. I'm after info on the no cut bungs (none R&G ones), as in the fist pic.

    Got the no cut r and g bungs...saved me fairings when it fell over trying to put it on paddock stand (pre abba stand)..not a mark..they also come with a bar which connects both side brackets, so pretty sturdy. .and stick out enough so I can rest me legs on em when my knees start throbbing. ..bought fleabay used £120 20170430_143149-1-1-1.jpg

    Evening, I myself am not a massive fan of crash bungs but in saying that I have fitted a set of GB racing engine protectors.

    The GB racing bullet sliders seem less noticeable and I'm considering getting these myself.
