    Afternoon,

I'm looking at doing my first euro track day this year, the options on the dates I can do are:

    Brno
    Estoril
    Portimao
    Jerez

Has anyone been to any of these tracks, if so which would you recommend?

Think I'll take my bike, was looking at hiring one but some of the damage deposits are mental. With tracksense it's £3800 (could buy a new bike for that :)). Smallboy racing looked good but they aren't providing bikes for any Euro days in the Spring/Summer due to UK commitments.

Tyre wise (I'll prob be in the slow group) will a set last 3 days or do you really need to take a spare rear?

Anyone else got any Euro days booked for 2020?

    Cheers
    Mike

Regarding the Portuguese tracks, between Estoril and Portimão, go for Portimão.

Bump! I’m up for this too - anyone here got any tips/experience?

Mickster - will depends what tyres you’ve got on. I’ve had more than 3 track days out of my S22s and they’re still fine, but if you’re on something softer like a SuperCorsa it might be getting a bit close, especially if track temps are hot.

Out of that list I've done Portimao and Jerez, both great tracks but my personal favourite is Portimao - it is awesome! Proper roller coaster of a track. Big elevation changes/blind crests with a mixture of fast and slow corners. Lots of good trackside reference points too to help you and also tarmac run off should you make a mistake. Accommodation is normally provided down in Praia da Rocha which is roughly a 30min drive from the track. Nice hotels, big beach down there and plenty of bars and places to eat on the strip an ideal location if you were going with family. Weather there can be dodgy early/late in the year so I generally look to go between the end of May and mid Oct. There is a hotel literally 5 mins away from the track that I believe some providers use, but be mindful that you are out in the sticks and abit of a captive audience there. Tyre wise i run Bridgestone v02 slicks and use 1 front and 2 rears over the 3 days. In novice you could probably get away with one set but no harm in taking a spare rear. I'm out there at the start of June with Redline. If you have anymore questions just shout up.

@Blade048 I'm assuming you take your own bike over there? How does the transport logistics work for you? Do Redline ship it, then you fly yourself out?

Yes I use my own bike and yes you sort your flights out. I've used both Redline and No Limits on my euro trips. They use a stillage system (2 bikes per stillage) which you pack yourself. They then transport the bikes to the circuit and bring them home at the end. They have a number of drop off/pick up locations you can choose from. Drop off/pick up is roughly 4-5 days either side of the trip.

As above I have done Porto and Jerez, used, no limits, pacedayz, tracksense, and focused events, normally do 3/4 euros a year as I got fed up of being rained off and losing money.
Tbf all the Spanish tracks are generally really good, I’ve never thought I’m not enjoying this track. But the packages can vary.
As above Portimao is epic for me package wise, I like to stay at the hotel close to the track as I got a lot of good places to eat a short drive away and the hotel is mega

Jerez or Portimao are always good. Portimao might be wet early in the spring, but otherwise both are equally good tracks to start with.

Yep just booked Portimao myself for late June with No Limits, cant wait. It'll be hot though! That'll be the first European track day on my new SP.

Between now and then I hope to do a few UK track days to acclimatise to the new bike.

New to me, a 2019 bike, not the new 2020 shape.
