hey guys I have a problem with my 2009 fire blade when it’s to about 100 degrees the drop a couple of times on tick over then cuts out with no engine management faults but will re start straight away, I have by passed neutral switch and side stand switch which never helped, any help appreciated
No relation to the fan it runs ok ideling until it gets gets hot and then the revs drops a couple of times then cuts out. I noticed that the fuel tank is a lot hotter than previous bikes
welcome to the club does this happen on the move only? I have never noticed the fuel tank running hot or not even warm. The tank has a venting system which ends with a short elbow tube on th right. Could be there is pressure building up and starving the engine (like vapor lock). worth checking
Checked that today all seems ok even run it with the filler cap open but makes no difference, on tick over it still cuts out when the engine gets warm but restarts as so as I press the start button also bypass the kill switch today but made no difference.
It only cuts out on tick over when I pull up to a set off lights or stop at a junction or have it ticking over in the drive way some times out on the road it has a little miss fire and runs rough put clear
Hi mate yes I’ve got to the bottom of it now after checking everything I could and running a fuel pump pressure test and finding no faults with anything I decided to take a gamble and replace the cam shaft position sensor and bingo it has never cut out since fitting the new sensor. Thanks for you’re help guys
