Started out on an 09 cbr125 - interesting machine but did the job while I learned Bought an 03 R6 as my first big bike - bargain at 2 grand. Absolute pleasure to ride - revved to high heaven - and only replaced as my dad was selling his 954 and couldn’t say no.. especially knowing the money he ploughed into it and knowing all the history for the last 10 years Sold this one earlier this afternoon, it’s been replaced by an rr8 a couple weeks ago which was too good of a deal to turn down. So far the best bike I’ve owned as well! Handling is different to the 954 and an increase in power, pleased with my decision

[QUOTEJoined by a sweet handling naked Suzuki SV650 View attachment 61935 [/QUOTE] ive got one exactly like this, it’s about to go up for sale. Only got 12k on the clocks too.
First bike SkyTeam ST125. Chinese bike with a Honda engine. Only got rid of it a few months ago. Suzuki SV650 2000 W Reg. still got this in the garage. Been in the family for 16 or so years. Only got 12k miles on it. Actually be putting this up for sale in the next few weeks. Just had an mot put on her. BMW S1000rr 2010. After 3 years of passing my test I thought I’d go all out and get this 3 years old. Certainly some bike! Then the chocolate gearbox decided to take a tooth off 4th. So I said bye. Honda CBR1000RR 2009. Took this bike to France, Germany and Switzerland. Did a few track days on her, decided to turn her into one as I’d clocked up a fair few miles on her. Still got her too. Just having problems with the clocks at the moment Another Honda CBR1000RR 2009 put a deposit down on this from Honda only the other day. Be picking it up from Honda next week hopefully.
Would that be Grimsel Pass looking toward the Furka Pass, stopped for lunch in the Restaurant at the bottom of the two passes, which is just right of your n/s mirror. Will go back there just to get the furka sticker it blew off the panniers
Across the Valley, Furka Pass on our ZZR. Used bike shuttle to take the bike to Geneva, saved wasting 4 to 5 days going through the shithole called France, 15 days of Touring the Alps and Northern Italy & the Lakes.
Lovely area, great quality roads, but slightly worrying penalties for excessive speeding.... Great photos! Been there too on my 'blade a few times and also on my Z1000SX in 2018
I tow mine and a friends bike in my box trailer. Stop off at places on the way for the day. Have a good blast around, sleep in a hotel, on to the next place early morning. Spend a day or two there depending on how good it is, then on to the next place.
So for me it was:- ZX6R (T reg), R6 (W reg), SP1 (W reg, the one true bike I regret selling), 2 x R1's (Y reg & 02 reg), then I went all commuter type and got XJ6 (10 reg), then FZ1 (09 reg), RR9 (09 reg) then to a Brutale 1090RR (13 reg) sold about 2 years ago . Funny thing is my old blade is still knocking about local to me and the Brutale is for sale at Superbike Factory for more than what I paid for it. The only pics I have:
Sorry no pictures, my previous bikes were a Suzuki AP50, Yamaha 100CC, Yamaha RD125, Suzuki GT250, Suzuki GT380, Suzuki GT750, Suzuki Bandit 600 Maiko Motor cross 440, Honda CBR 250 Motor Motor cross, Kawasaki ZZR 1140 spent a lot of money on that bling wise, Husqvarna TE510 Enduro turned it into a super moto, now a 2010 Fireblade. impulse buy
TY50 - felt huge as a 10 year old but I grew into it. Lived away up a dirt track so it seen a lot of use. Had a few places to stash it around the village. After a while the headmaster got wind that I was coming to school on it(the huge kitbag big enough for my helmet probably gave the game away) and called me in. Was expecting to be told not to use it anymore but instead he said I could park it round the back of the art block as long as I pushed it on and off of school property. Funky! Every kid in Lamlash in the early 80s learned to ride on it. TY175 - A pal of my dad kept this in our workshop and I had the OK to use it whenever I liked. As the years passed and I was outgrowing the 50 the 175 saw more and more use. YZ125 - Another family friend had got a 490 so wasn't using his 125 anymore. He left it up at our house to try and get my dad into dirt biking. By this time I was about 14 so naturally I kicked the ass out of it every opportunity I got for a year or so. My folks still talk about the time I pushed it home in tears in the snow because I'd fallen off it so many times and couldn't handle any more pain that day. YB100 - First roadbike, We'd moved to Glasgow and I got this about a fortnight before I turned 17. Needed a load of work but we got our heads down and on my 17th birthday I took for it's MOT, came home, loaded it up with camping gear and joined my folks and one of their pals on a week long camping trip up the west coast. The paintjob came about because another mate of my dads makes guitars. Someone had ordered one in aquamarine then changed his mind about the colour at the last minute. Done the frame white for a kinda Arial Arrow vibe. KH100 - Was younger than the YB and a bawhair quicker but I never really liked it much. Used it to get around when the YB was getting worked on. Was given it by a mate and gave it away to another mate a year or so later. DT125MX - Got two basket cases and built a runner from bits of the pair. Pretty handy(if heavy) little dirt bike that I still have. VT250F - What I really wanted was an RD250 but this popped up at a good price. No regrets - done me fine for years with no hassles. Picked up a years ban at one stage and killed the time giving it a paint job. ZXR400R - What can I say? Favourite bike ever. Just fits me so well and I've had it so long it feels like an extension of my body. Fazer 600 - Was actually my dad's but sometimes I'd wake up to find the ZXR gone if he was feeling in a cheeky mood. When he got his first Blackbird the Fazer was just a general hack for the pair of us. Was handy when the wee zee needed work and in the summer I'd use it for longer runs and motorway trips. Weather protection was garbage so in winter the zxr was a better choice. 900 Blade. A loaner from a friend when the wee zee was getting a freshen up one time. Only done a thousand miles or so but must admit it was tough giving it back. Lotta fun! RR5 - ...and here we are - all up to date. Hand-me-down from my dad when he decided to give sports bikes a miss and got a KTM Super Adventure S. It's big, it's black and if it doesn't cost me my licence it'll be a bleeding miracle.
Your first 3 bikes were my dream bikes growing up but mam and dad wouldn’t buy me a bike. The dt was on the list as well. You’d think I was a Yamaha fan but never had one.
Plenty of Yams on my wish list still as well. Absolute top of the list is a late model TZR250. Had a shot of one(the parallel twin version) once and although it was only a twenty mile swap for the ZXR up the trossachs it'll stick in my mind forever. Was the bike I was saving for when I got the ZXR, but the wee zee was there in a showroom just screaming out to come home with me - My mum worked for Mark Johns(got a rostrum in a superbike TT once) and he took part-ex bikes for cars so always had a few lying around. I went up to to help with an end-of-month report, went to the loo at one point and there was the wee 400 sitting in a corner. Knew it was mine the moment I saw it - even if I didn't have the money for it yet. ...and a YZ250 wouldn't go amiss. ...and an R6 was what I planned to upgrade to before the Blade dropped in my lap.
Gonna keep this one short and sweet First bike - ER6f, really nice bike for the first one, ended up selling due to some oil burning issues Ninja 300 - Decided to get this, because I loved the looks, and was happy with the power that it had just for commuting. Fun and nimble bike. ZXR 400 - When I had an A2 license, I really wanted to have an inline 4 bike, so ended up getting this one. Ended up selling it, because it had some overheating issues, that I sorted, but I wasn't feeling comfortable taking it for longer rides. Awesome bike though, if you find in good condition. Nice condition CBR 600 rr 2005, one of my favorite bikes that I had, unfortunately got stolen, only had it for around a year. Wouldn't mind buying another one in the future. 2008 ZX6-r - This is what I got to replace my CBR, but even after riding it for a year + I just wasn't happy with the power and the torque that it had, compared to my previous cbr 600 rr, I was sure it had a loss of HP, but after dyno test, everything was in spec, so ended up selling it after a year and a bit. GSXR 750 K5 - Really amazing bike, had this one for around 2-3 years before changing to another bike. I actually still have it, it's just on offroad insurance as I don't ride it, but I have also taken it to the track, very nice power too. Latest one 2011 CBR 1000 rr, not much to say about this, I think you all already know ! All I can say, it's really a great bike, had no issues with it so far.
