Last year I sold my beloved ZZR 1400, had it for 10 years an 08 model. Fast bike in a straight line, like a bus going round corners, within 1 week of selling it I got bored of cutting the grass. I decided to go and buy a Hysqvarna TE 510. That was ok but I kept falling off on the dirt a few times, I thought this is not for me. So decided to put some super moto wheels on it and ride it a bit more on the road. Cut a long story short my son's friend was interested in buying it 3 weeks ago so I sold it. I thought that was the end time to pack up and do a bit of gardening not for me. I'm not ready to sit back and watch the world go by, so Friday I picked up another toy, Fireblade RR-A , 2010 black and white, 15,000 miles, mods already done- rear sets, after market brake leavers, stubby termignoni exhaust, Rode it home in the rain,first job tomorrow is too clean it, look forward to nosing around the forum
I know someone who has just brought a bike at the young age of 70 hasn’t rode a bike since 1971 And he is loving it Ok it was a royal Enfield bullet and now it’s a royal enfield intercepter and when I went on a 70mile trip behind him I only had two dead flys on my bike But it shows your never to old ah nigel
My friend Tony just turned 74 and owns four Fireblades. All of them in top condition and one is the Phil Read Replica. He is the opposite of a slow rider and doesn't like to ride in a group of riders who own Bobber, Chopper, Oldtimer and are afraid to drive faster than 60mph and have to brake before every corner. Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
