I had a 2017 XR from new for 2 years. It kind of stopped making sense after a while having such a manic iL4 in a big adventure bike, especially alongside the fireblade. Quite hard to explain really but just went off it. Have to say I have more fun riding my old VFR. As for the Ducati, I think the V Twin would suit that style of bike a lot more than the iL4 in the XR. .....would you consider test riding a GS!?
Cheers for that Charlie! I do like the Duke Twins despite writing off my 1199S last year and nearly not making it! Love the grunt of a twin, far better on the road I felt. GS? Nah, my mates got one and they're far to unwieldly for my liking!
