Fitted my smaller (still legal) private plate today and now the rear indicators stick out like a sore thumb! Anyway to get them in closer to the plate? Already has a R&G tail tidy.

Never even had the indicators off. But I’d assume if I trimmed the stem down wouldn’t that get rid of holes the fix it to the tail tide? Think it might have to be a winter job if I can’t find a simpler solution to my problem, like somewhere to buy oem indicators with shorter stems. That’s what I’m hoping I find on here, someone who’s already done this.

Awwww man! Is that the only other option? Or is there some that look oem which are aftermarket? Couldn’t find any online anywhere, and I don’t like the look of others.

Think the bolt is captive in the end bit, you could see if anyone has a damaged one you could use to test if you can trim it down.

R&G do mini ones. You can get integrated tail lights and do away with them altogether but don’t think the are legal and I’ve had a few that have packed up so went back to normal ones.

I’ve got a older evotech tail tidy, not sure if they sit closer in or not, but prob not much different.

There’s something else you might like to consider.
After fitting my tail tidy I decided that my next move was to fit some slim line led indicators. I really like the way they look, slim and neat and tidy. Like you, I thought the original ones could be bettered aesthetically.
In reality the original set up does its best to do what your actually trying to do when you trigger your switch, (which still has us looking to see if we’ve been noticed) unfortunately however, with my newly installed slims I find myself really really checking that my actions have been noticed.
I love the look of my led set up but in real terms, in my case the original ones seem to do a better job if I’m honest. There is no sideways projection and in my opinion less rear projection, they are bright enough but if lined up alongside a standard set up on a rainy miserable night I’d guess mine wouldn’t of been as noticeable at first.

    Just my thoughts.

I had the same bike with the same RnG tail tidy but my indicators didn't stick out that much! Maybe your indicators have extra long storks which you can get. o_O

That tail tidy has a different number plate light. Do they do different tail tidy’s?

Also how wide is that number plate?

Actually looking at your plate ......it's squareo_O I'm guessing 6x6? if your plate was a bit wider it wouldn't look as daft. 7x5 plate is the cheapest and easiest solution mate ;)

I get what you mean, but because it's square you've lost that width which is making your indicators stick out. 7x5 will be wider and shorter which will show off more rear end too ;)

the smallest legal 3 character plate is 163x174mm, yours looks like that. I have similar on mine and though the indicators look wide they're still narrower than the original position. Personally I've decided I like the look, it suits the SC57. I'd leave them be, being noticed is most important, imo!.
