Hello guys. That's my first post so please forgive me if posting on the wrong place. I own a 2008 sc59 cbr 1000rr. The bike is a 2008 uk model, that usee to be a superstock race bike. Later it was brought in Greece, raced a few races in the Greek championship, and then served me as a track bike. Now I've decided to make it street legal but I'm facing some issues. The bike has no keys and locks on it and I want ti buy some user ones but I noticed the ecu has AC on it. The actual part number of the ecu is 38770-MFL-773 AC. My first guess was that it is a US ecu to get rid of hiss. But I now think it's a California ecu, that does have hiss. But I really can't be sure whether I should buy a US non HISS lock set and key or a European set including a hiss ecu just to be sure. Any help?
Hi welcome. So you want to fit hiss??? I'd be inclined to cut an ignition switch in to the existing loom or try a complete loom with your ECU. Personally I'd prefer not to have hiss as it will probably go wrong one day. But would be happy for people to think hiss was still fitted.
No I don't want to fit Hiss. I just want to fit a lock on the bike and couldn't figure out what lock I should get. I searched a bit more and found that the AC ecu is Californian which means no hiss but o2 sensor over the other US ecus. So i ordered a complete us lock set. Fingers crossed.. I would also like to have people think hiss is installed (for obvious reasons hahah) but it turns out that turning a race bike into a road bike is far more complicated and costly than I thought.
You may have to change some wiring, I'm not sure. But the ECU won't know is a hiss ignition switch. Buy the cheapest lockset ect you can get.
