Hi All Does anyone know if a 2016 SP rear subframe is a direct fit on a 2010 Fireblade, and can you use the 2010 seat unit/plastics/undertray etc? Cheers Mike
Yep subframe fits straight on as it uses all the same mounts, not sure about plastics but can't see Honda changing all the mounting points for the plastics as the only difference on the later models is a slightly wider rear tail unit. Seat is the same so don't think your have any dramas. Just be aware that you can't use pillion pegs on the SP subframe....
Thanks Dave, I probably should just get a standard subframe as the SP ones are a bit pricey for the plastics not to fit properly, but they do look better Or I need to find an accomodating breaker whos got one who could try the older plastics on it. Putting a track bike back on the road so, just collecting all the bits I need.
Cheers mate, your bike looks sweet. Mine's got Ohlins front and rear and Brembos so will have a similar look, but with the 2010 style respsol rep plastics and carbon BSTs. Was tempted to go for the newer model plastics but managed to get hold of the original fairings for the bike. Just not sure if Black wheels will look wrong on a repsol
Its as wrong as going out with no knickers on I think at the very least you're going to have to put some orange wheel trim on
Si.... does you rear preload adjuster not hit your hugger? perhaps it's just the angle of the picturebut doesn't look like it has any clearance.
I have 2009 with SP tail and seat cowl. For straight on. Also, I know that the SP doesn't come with pillion pegs but I'm sure there's the holes to bolt them on if desired.
I wouldn't put the pillion pegs on even if there are holes for them! As where Honda have machined holes into the subframe it essentially made the rear part of the subframe weaker and not able to carry a passenger! Hence why the SP comes without pegs and rear seat
Hi guys can anyone confirm if you can fit a standard 1000rr rear subframe and plastics to the sp bike in order to have passengers. As it appears that the sp unit can be fitted to the standard I assume it can but wonder if anyone has already done it ?
Think you are missing the point mate so the non sp version is designed for pillion use and my question was will that fit to the sp version as I would prefer the ohlins sus but want to still have occasional passengers
