Hi good day please, and Thank you for the official CBR1000RR forum for enabling us to write about our beautiful bikes, and also some concerns. I have to express today please about the Quickshifter from HealTech IQSE - regards downshifting. Just recently I bought finally my long awaited CBR1000rr - model spec 2009 - and being an high fan of quickshifters, I ordered an new set of QS to be set up in the workshop. But now reading more deeply regards the full functionality, by my shock I see now that it can't do fully clutchless Downshifting. I really was expecting that it can do both, without any use of the clutch. Is there any way to make some software adjustments regards this please? Just found an article on their website: ''You may do clutchless downshifts with partial throttle from the higher (4-6) gears only if the shifts are smooth and effortless on your bike and the shift lever is not stiff.'' - If someone has an expert opinion or ran trough this in the past, will be so extremely helpful please ! I'm so worried that I end up spending money for doing just upshift gears... - Would be there any add-on blipper piece option for this bike in order to solve this issue? I know about the HM quickshifters offer both seamless gear changes, but on a premium price... Thanks a lot and regards, Sebastien
Hi Seb and welcome. FAQ 16 says it will do downshifts, unless it has been disabled? https://www.healtech-electronics.com/app/iqse/trb_en It's also worth going through the fine tuning at https://www.healtech-electronics.com/docs/iQSE_fine-tuning_guide.pdf Failing that, can you post a screen grab of the settings in the App and I'll try to dig mine out as I have the iQSE on a 2013 model and now also on a 2006 too.
Hi and thank you for looking trough this. Yes sure will do, can't wait Plus, it says Downshift cut is noticeable only if you blip the throttle during downshifts. - So, still need some extra help for the looks of this. Will see - maybe the software App will be the gold answer... Hear you shortly.
I thought clutchless downshifts were only possible if you have an auto blipper, for this you need a "fly by wire" throttle, your 2009 model is a wired throttle so I wouldn't have thought the quickshifter is designed for clutchless downshifts unless you manually blip the throttle yourself at the same time as you downshift, seams tricky to get the timings right. Contact Healtech, they will be able to tell you straight away, saves you guessing.
Yes, thats for sure, manual blip will be the only option after all but will see. I wrote them yesterday, on UK/US websites, hope they reply back by tomorrow. And thanks for the information please, Seb
I just received now an reply from them, and its as expected and as you said... Hi Sebastien, to use iQSE for clutchless downshifts it is necessary to fit an autoblipper, unfortunately Healtech Electronics do not currently produce one, there are alternatives on the market but we do not stock them. You can also carry out clutchless downshifts by “feathering” the throttle while shifting. If you send details of your bike we may be able to advise where to install the sensor for best results. Kind regards, Hopefully the software will allow me somehow at least to reduce the timings of the downshifting just by doing the bleep with the wrist on the throttle... Thats all, Seb
For reference here are my settings for the QuickShifter in the App. 2013 Fireblade road bike. Note that as a road bike it's not getting the same use as it would on track. 2006 Fireblade track bike. I've not test ridden this yet as I've only just fitted it.
