I know it's a bit soon but does anyone happen to have the rear axle nut torque rating for the 2020 CBR1000RR-R? The owner's manual is extremely basic and suggests going to the dealer for simple tasks like adjusting chain tension or changing oil so it lacks any useful torque settings. Thanks in advance!
Funny you should ask about the rear axle nut torque value, there doesn't appear to be one. I wondered about this a few weeks ago when I was looking over the service manual. I think it is a locknut and as such just tighten it up firmly and off you go. However, the other large 33mm+ nut is 72lbft.
Hmm, I've never seen this sort of set-up. If you don't mind me asking, what does the service manual say regarding chain adjustment? Could you elaborate a bit?
Interesting, US owners manual in PDF form only has 237 pages and no indication of rear axle not torque that I can find. Quite the omission by Honda.
Man, do I feel stupid. I've been using a US version of the owner's manual for reference since I prefer to use a PDF instead of the hard copy. This PDF manual is missing quite a bit of information. Today I went and got my own owner's manual which low and behold had all the information I needed. After reading RC45's comment I even thought I had to deal with some alien technology but that's not the case, adjusting the chain on this bike is the same as any other motorcycle. Anyway, I can confirm that the rear axle nut torque is 135NM, just like Ritchierich said!
You can download the owners manual as a pdf from the Honda website. That's where I got mine from. https://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/my-bike/honda-motorcycles-owners-manuals.html
Thanks for the link. I am actually reading the manual. Really CBA with the little booklet they supply.
