Society has become very polarised. Not much place for an old-fashioned fence-sitter like me. If you haven't seen it I'd highly recommend watching a film on Netflix called 'The Social Dilemma'. Absolutely frightening how entangled our lives have become with the AI in social media. Goes a long way to explaining why people are so fragile and easily upset these days. Basically all of these social media platforms have algorithms constantly running and targeting you with the content they think you want to see. So if you're a left-leaning, mung bean eating, gender-confused snowflake, you'll get fed a diet of socially righteous ordure from like-minded people. Likewise if you're an angry, homophobic, gammon-faced Britain first type. You'll get fed a steady diet of stories about the erosion of Britishness and the rise of Muslim paedophile grooming gangs. This has left many in society believing that one or the other is right and that if you believe the other side you need to be destroyed. Used to be most people teetered either left or right of centre. Not anymore. Hence the rise of politicians like Trump and other far-right demagogues. 20 years ago they'd have got no traction but not anymore.

Likewise mate. Did it about 3 years ago (didn't have snapchat), got sick of all the drivel on there from both sides! This thread has been an interesting one, kinda reminded me why I left the other platforms.
WOW - just watched this and it has reinforced what I have always believed - social media is the root of all evil.
Sister-in-Law works in a DIY/Home Furniture store down here in Cornwall, the Store Supervisor said to one of the staff on who needed a extra pair of hands to do some display, so he basically said get the lads "Name" and said get "Him" to help you, who heard what he was called "Him" ! Turns out he took offence to being called "Him" because he is a "Gender" not a "Him" or "Her". Store Supervisor was told to apologise for the wording he used to describe a staff member, which he did, and now is on Gardeners Leave pending further investigation. Also turns out this Gender employee uses the disabled toilet, has he refuses to use the Man or Women toilet ..
