Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone knows what the standard spring rates are in forks and rear shock. I'm about 100kg without gear and looking at sorting suspension out and wondering if I need to swap springs out if I get suspension serviced. Cheers Luke
I saved this to give it a try, not sure if it helps. https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/2012-13-bpf-suspension-settings-by-kais.13861/#post-345906
I read that thread and I'm using them at the minute, just want to see if I can get it any better thats why I'm trying to see what spring rates are in forks and shock to get it right for me, I'm about 98/100kg with out gear. Also been told to get adreani valves in forks as they make the feeling awesome
Had my 2007 forks serviced by FTR and I asked what the standard spring rate was. They suggested they are usually setup for 12 stone riders, so as I'm a few stone heavier than that got some uprated K-Tech springs fitted at the same time (was about £80 extra). Psychologically (not sure if actual) bike feels much better, will take back this summer and have everything setup properly as I'd just dropped the forks off to them to work on. So upshot is if 2007 was setup from factory as 12 stone, might suggest they all are?
Iv a set of ohlins springs for sale. 08405-11 if any interest? Near certain they ate for 100kg plus Thanks
What type of riding you're into ? Makes a big difference in the spring rates. I'm assuming street. Forks: stock 1.03 kg/mm recommended, 1.03kg/mm Shock: stock, 12kg/mm recommended, 12.45kg/mm
Fast road mate. I've put my bike back to std setting over what I paid for doing to see how it feels in comparison as springs aren't that far out according to racetech page
I'm sure you'll be ok with stock. Just make sure the sags are set correctly and then set clickers to your liking.
