Hello all. First post here. I have a 2010 blade (non ABS) that I'm looking to use for mainly trackdays but some road riding too. Suspension needs resprung and revalved for my immense heft. I bought a VCG 2017 shock after reading somewhere (that I now cannot find) that it is a much better quality item than the original and indeed a good candidate to be fettled by people such as K-tech. I'm just about to book it in with them but had a measure twice-cut once moment. Can any of you confirm or deny that it will fit my bike? Some consensus here would probably be enough for me to send it off, otherwise I'll pull the bike apart and try fitting it to see. Also what are your thoughts on the K-tech route? Any alternatives you'd recommend instead? I'm up near Newcastle if that helps any. Any of you fitted SSK valves and or the K-tech compression adjusters yourselves? All thoughts welcome. Cheers D
You bought the standard showa shock i take it. Yes will fit. all years 08-19 interchangeable whatever the shock oem or aftermarket Is a good little improvement for the cost can pick them up £50-£100 thesedays WIll need a 12+ rear hugger though
Thank you for the reply vic_Ster51. Yeah STD shock. I presumed I'd have to either modify or ditch the standard hugger. I was sure I'd read somewhere that the 17 shock was good enough quality to spend some money having revalved but when I spoke to the bloke at Brook Suspension he suggested that the STD 17 shock is still garbage, relatively speaking. After another look about here it appears that there are other people to speak to as well. Cheers again. D
