@Selmer50mark Mark, think it’s a similar issue, not sure how important them seal is, but will run some rtv high temp silicon around mine to be 100%
@Kentblade I suppose air will be drawn in from the wrong side of the filter ,,,,,, not had any running issues but Yes ,, I'll be doing likewise.
@Selmer50mark Good call, I think Mr Janpanese designer back in the late 80s, never had the concept 30 years on some old farts in the western world would still be riding these things, so longevity of seals etc was the last things on his mind Spoke to my local Honda dealer today, poor lad didn’t have clue what a carb was let alone what I was talking about......it’s a lonely world out there
LOL, that's really the way the trend is going isn't it? The biker demographic is getting older across the board, and people willing to/that enjoy fixing their vehicles are a dying breed. I never dreamed I'd see the day when the vast majority of vehicles I love and desire are many years old. That reminds me of a thread I meant to start actually...
I've just put my RRV back together, I didn't notice rubbers cracking but I didn't check that closely. Guess I'll have too!
@Selmer50mark Once I looked closely at them, it was only one that someone had been at before and had tried to reseal, so stripped everything off that one, cleaned it and up put some RTV Silicon around it. Should seal it up OK
