Today decided to stop biking. Aged 72 it's time. So, for sale is my pride & joy - 2017 Red Fireblade, standard model, 2 owners from new (I'm the second) and less that 16k on the clock. It had it's 16k service from Honda Dealer when I bought it 12 months ago, and oil change, new front pads this year -- it has a FSH. Still with under 16k on clock. Full MOT mid July with no advisories. Lots of bits on this one inc. OEM Honda Quickshifter. Full set of axle and fairing crash bungs. GB racing engine covers. Grip Puppies. Heated grips (pads fitted over the standard grips, under the grip puppies. Pillion Seat Cowl (pillion seat will come with it). Chain oiler (Tutoro). Red Rear Hugger. Fender Extender. Complete Radiator & Downpipe protection grilles. Honda Tank & Fuel Filler pads/decals. Steering decal to match the tankpad. Pillion pegs removed and replaced by transportation eyes (pegs will come with it). HRC reservoir covers. Tinted Powerbronze high screen. Headlamp protectors (second set as first dropped off, these might too). Tail Tidy. Smaller numberplate but with legal size lettering. Gear shaft support. Datatool Alarm (but simple diy fit version, plus some other "flashing" LEDs to deter the potential thief). Bike is Datatagged, transferable for a small fee. Pillion pegs removed, replaced by transportatione eyes. Overtaking mirrors (removable but at least worth a try). And no doubt some stuff I forgot. All changed or removed parts will come with the bike. It is currently fitted with 1" lower driver footpegs with rubbered Blackbird pegs -- easily removable and revertable back to standard but well worth a try for comfort. I have left them on onbly as the quickshifter was initialised with them fitted and a new buyer might hope to try the bike before reverting to standard and reinitialising the quickshifter (simplicity itself). Comes with a standard rider and pillion seat but I also have a raised rider seat (maybe 1"+ higher) which I shall sell out separately. Mention as I am 6ft 1" and found the raised seat a great improvement. And how much. Quick look through MCN and Ebay earlier, I think it is worth £9200 with the above extras and the absolutely great Quickshifter. Pics below - if anyone wants any different send me a note. Will also be listing some great condition suits and boots later, followed maybe by luggage etc.. All good kit and very under used. Mike
Great shame. I'm 72 next year and get 25 years younger every time I get on my bike. No intention of giving up here. I hope it's not because of health reasons. Wish you well.
No not health -- just time. Have done my local roads here in SW Wales many times over and enjoyed every minute of it. Off to list some cracking kit too though will keep helmet, gloves and a textile suit just-in-case.......................maybe a big scoot (sacrilege!!).
I think if I had the prior 2014 model, which I did at one time.....I'd move to the 17-20 model again for the improved ABS and other electronics. I think they transform your confidence in the bike, although Honda have always had a great reputation the 2014+ ABS issues tarnished it for some, me included. This bike restores it wholly.
So no interest at all then?? I don't plan to buy another bike, and stripping it of added kit to sell it seems such a shame.. Not sure next plan...
I could but this is SW Wales, nearest dealer a long way from me. I'll wait a while, as I say not buying another and finding it a good home would be nice. It's by far the best I have owned and in last 15 years since returning to biking after retiring must have had 20+. And after all there's no hurry, life not a race, after all who wants to get to finish line first. Of my 20, probably 15+ Hondas. Great bikes.
Always an issue selling from out in the far corners of country.....long way to travel to view and only the brave, like me often, buy unseen......but patience is apparently a virtue. Stay safe, Mikr
Patience is a virtue Mike, and it’s needed sometimes, there’s plenty of distance buyers, just have to wait for the right one to find your ad. Just travelled 600 mile round trip a few weeks ago to pick up a car I’d bought on the basis of description and photos/videos, and have bought loads of cars and bikes the same way in the past. Most of action goes on in Facebook groups nowadays and sadly not forums and Ebay motorcycles.
