Well some of it, :D I didn't actually remove the Reed valves, just the control valve and then blocked off the two pipes with a couple of stoppers . I was told that the headers will run a bit cooler but that could be bullshit :D:D

Over weekend reinstalled rebuilt and jetted carbs, coils, throttle cables, rad, airbox, all new filters, coolant.

All setup to balance carbs, aux fuel tank on, tap open, petrol pissing out of carb 4. All new float bowl gaskets

Fuel off, fired up to drain bowls.

Cover on........garage locked...just get the feeling this bike is fated for this summers riding.

Well if the PAIR system adds air so any unburnt gas/fuel gets burnt off in the headers, blocking it off entirely can only make the headers run cooler? Can't imagine having the reed valves and a bit of blocked off pipework can make it run any cooler than having it blocked off entirely?

I know what you mean, yes not burning it off should make it run cooler, I just couldn't be arsed getting blanking plates so I just left some pipe on the PAIR covers and blocked that off,,,,,, same affect

First ride out on the new front tyre tonight. Have gone for the same Dunlop Qualifier II as was on the rim already, but the difference of how quick it is to turn in now is sublime. The old one still had tread left on it but had gone a bit triangular in profile if that makes sense. Anyway, certainly made the ride more enjoyable.

That's a bugger seeing it go but you know you'll be back in a seat before too long. Once a biker always etc etc

You’ll be back on the saddle one day, but please hang about the forum. I’ve enjoyed reading your posts and not to mention the infamous mk3golfcab chain guard.

fitted the new Scorpion exhaust, i have not cleaned the bike, i dont like cleaning bikes, and im not impressed with the probolt kit either

also, the infill panel is a trifle naff, kinda like a door card of a 1980s Ford

it does sound nice and raspy, and im sure its altered the performance, 1st gear seems less lurchy, and 2nd seems to be faster, twice it felt like i was taking off, but since it was rush hour, i was probably just imagining it

The can looks ok mate and the infill does look like a door card bit there is better one about, like the carbon ones from racefit.

what’s wrong with the bolts from pro bolt? Looks like your back brake fluid could flap with a change also?
