Anyone seen this and have any thoughts on it? https://www.healtech-electronics.com/products/ara/ Seems it's one of two major options to add traction/launch/wheelie control to older blades, along with the GripOne Iside (or their older systems like the Leone/S3/S4). I think the GripOne systems potentially have the edge considering they have an IMU included or as an optional add-on, on top of wheel speed sensors, but then, being Italian, their support is quite lacking compared to the Healtech offering (and potentially their reliability also). My enquires and responses received (lots of helpful and detailed responses to my questions to Healtech, whereas complete silence from GripOne) support my suspicions in this regard. There's no good reviews I can find from the Healtech AR Assistant - I guess because it's so new - but I very much fancy the idea of traction/wheelie/launch control, so I may well bite the bullet nonetheless, but would love to hear any and all opinions from the gang here before I do!
Hi there. I ride a fazer 1000 2004 and fitted a AR assistant because I nearly highsided on a wet patch in the rain a couple of months ago. Well today I had the same thing happen but had a AR assistant fitted and true enough I got around the corner with a little slide. The moment I lost traction It didn't allow the rear wheel to spin up but kept it in check .Managed to put my feet down to keep bike upright . So yes I highly recommend it . Have just ordered 1 for.my wife's er6. Regards Detlev
Any new/more reviews on this AR ? I'm looking for a TC for our -08 race bike. I'd love to hear more about this AR.
So yesterday the ARa and I Logger easy arrived and installation begins at some time after new year. I'll keep you posted.
Ive used the ARA on my 05 blade. I've seen the light flash on track a few times with a very slight slide. I wouldnt feel as confident without it. In fact, my new to me 09 blade came with the HRC traction control, which I've removed ready for the ARA to be fitted.
Doesn't need to know gearing. Just the tyre size which you input into the app. You also need to set it up, which is to drive at 37 mph and press a switch whilst at that speed
Great thread. Did you have abs rings before, or did you fit Healtech ones? Did the switchgear come with the unit? Keen to know how this performs, and how you'll test it. Are you going to grab a handful mid corner to test it?
I bought the rings from Healtech. The switchgear was sourced separately. I guess we'll start by TC on full and see if and when the light starters to blinking and you can hear it too when it's working.
Ok, the first track day with this ARa and Ilogger easy setup and we can't get it to work. It seems that we need to know the # of speed pulses in the gearbox speed pickup. It works for 2 seconds and no more. That is a indicator to us that the problem is with the speed difference between the wheels. Urgent help is needed to resolve this issue.
