I’m not sure, was already on the bike when I got it, can’t see any maker marks on it and have a feeling it’s been custom made but I love it
Had my 6 year old chinese fairings finally crack (they've had a good innings)... so replaced with ANOTHER set of chinese fairings. Very pleased... much better fit than the last lot.
Took mine to get the newly rebuilt forks set up, only to find that the Ohlins rear shock is leaking, so that will have come off and go in next week for a rebuild.
I honestly can't remember if I've posted in here yet. Anyway, this is what mine looked like when I first got it 5 years ago... ...and this is what it looks like now having been converted in to something I just use on the track... Arguably I've not done it any favours but having loved the way it rode it seemed nuts to get something I liked less on track and I've kept all the shiny bits safe to go back on once I've finally decided to upgrade. This won't be for sometime though as this is the most fun and forgiving bike I've ever had. The only things I've done to it apart from stripping it down and fitting the cheapest chinese unpainted fairings I could find on ebay are servicing including sorting out the valve clearances this year and fitting a gilles gear gear selector support bearing and a quick turn throttle tube. The exhaust is probably micron but it could just have had a micron plate holder. The exhaust baffle is not of a kind I've seen before as it slots in maintaining the hole bore size but routing exhaust gases through more of the exhaust. Seems to be effective at any rate measuring 92db at the last track day. In a couple of weeks it's booked it for a rebuild/service of the rear shock and the fitting of ktech fork piston kit and flow control valve. This is just because it's all getting a bit old and I want it to be predictable while I learn to ride on track. Next time it needs a chain and sprockets I might change the gearing but not really planning on changing much else although I'd quite like some rearsets, maybe some nice levers, maybe a slipper clutch and a quick change thing... apart from that I won't touch it Mark ETA... a downvote after 5 months, lol. Grumpy fuck. Shit valentines day?
My 2004 & my first Fireblade. It must be the dirtiest bike I’ve ever bought though, every part removed is caked in chain lube and god knows what else, all part of the fun & it’ll make the transformation that much better. While I have it in bits I plan to send the suspension off to MCT for a good service during the winter plus some other little upgrades.
