Hey everyone. Been a tough year for me as some of you will know. Sold the blade to cover solicitor fees. Got bored with nothing in the garage so treated myself to something that will hopefully get some more use - roads are terrible around here, and with the addition of loads of droves, I’m hoping a set of enduro wheels will mean year round riding. so I decided on a whim to buy a supermoto. I found this KTM 690 SMC R on Facebook at what I felt was a reasonable price, decided to drive down and pick it up. The values of these seem to stay high so fingers crossed have a year or so out of her then back to a sports bike?! She’s a 2017 on a 67 plate with 6k miles. First impressions (from the one 3 mile ride) is that she’s a bit slow - too be expected coming from a blade! But it’s very anti social and that’s a big plus for me as I love kissing my neighbours off. looking to do a few bits to it but nothing major, just enjoy it for what it is and I feel it will suit my riding at the minute. Here’s some pics. Comments welcome
Great looking bike, lots of fun no doubt. Mirrors look a bit gash though …in terms of actually being able to see anything I mean; how do you find them? I’ve got the KTM Super Duke and use bar end mirrors…I’ve tried all sorts of various types but went back to the OEM
They are gash, so is the handlebar brace. Both getting changed, would put bar ends on it but it’s got some hand guards on order lol. Want the little round ones ideally, you can tell these are just cheap ones - same as the ebay special levers! Few bits to do over time to keep me busy! Might have to take it for a rip when I get in tonight
Can’t wait to see what she can do with the front wheel up. I feel a driving ban coming along. I’ll have to swap it back for a blade so I don’t get in as much trouble lol
