Hello, I was just wondering can a Fireblade shock under go a service i.e re-gassing & fresh oil, seals etc. The reason I'm asking is I've just watched a Bennetts YouTube video about suspension servicing with a K-tech technician, and they mentioned manufacturers tend to fit shocks that a one trick items that can't be serviced! So I looked through the Fireblade Service Manual and that's shows how to service your forks but only shows how to replace rear linkage bearing and release the gas from the shock for disposal.
Or just buy my clean, very low mileage big piston showa rear shock from 2015 model. Better way and cheaper. The 08-11 shocks are not very good at all
Might be better to buy the one from vicster. I bought something from him once and it was perfect. Before that I also bought a low miles 2015 shock for my 2009 blade from eBay and it was a great improvement. I paid more for my shock than vicster charges - I should have bought from him!
I used Mct as well brilliant service and made a massive difference. Darren told me the later shocks are really good but are spoiled by really poor oil in them like frothy piss. His words..
Had a k-tech piston kit fitted to my rear shock when it was serviced last year on my 2007 so it can be done. Mine was done by JPR near Bath and would definitely recommend them if you're anywhere near.
