Looking at stock piling for my next oil change, I have been shocked at the price increases over the past 12 months, Motul in particular.
I have checked OPIE, SSBK, Ebay & amazon

    anyone elese noticed this?

Yea I've seen the silkolene pro 4 creep up slowly this year or so. Now paying £49 for 4 litres delivered. I usually buy off ebay from M&P. Opie annoys me now because you need the 15% off and free delivery to get it down to "best price", whereas on ebay the best price is just there, no messing about.

I have a Halfords trade Card so I get 4l of Castrol Power 1 (fully sync) for £28. I normally do about 4 trackdays and then change it, good value for money at £28.

I’ve been looking into a company called smith and Allen, meet all the specs recommended for the blades and half the price

Get yourself a trade card if you can. You just need a “business card”. I’ve got one and I’m an accountant  83BFB1D1-CFEC-4C41-837A-545362EE208B.png

castrol seems to be generally the cheapest of the big brand and Motul the most expensive

I am tempted to give shell a try as they have a good spec + decent price

    Vavolin also seems goo value

What I will say based on running the NS for 35k miles, Castrol fully synth 2 stroke is seriously good stuff. Crank is very much like new as are pistons. Bear in mind 2 strokes suffer major wear compared to a 4 stroke

Ok so I got a good deal on the oil :) but filter has gone up a few quid  . There is a filter removal wrench in the box now , probably why its gone up . How long have Honda filters been made in China,? o_O it's the first time noticed 20220111_175925.jpg 20220111_180119.jpg

guess what I'm doing this Saturday :)

I noticed a year ago the Honda OEM filter was no longer made by Honda!
Check out my post in sports bike shop section.
Mine was made in France, looks like Honda has expanded their suppliers.
You just got to go with the flow as long as it is genuine

    update
I have ordered shell 4T ultra 10w40 £28 and will try it on my yam XTR.
My pocket is not longer deep enough to pay for motul 300V range:(

After some research, I have also come to the conclusion that 99% of synthetic/ full synthetic oil are now in fact GLT group III with synthetic additive giving a very good performance.
