Hi everybody just bought a 2010 cbr 1000 in silver and orange this is the first honda I have ever owned and it has blown me away by far the best handling and most fun bike I have ever rode. The only downside is it has a fake akrapovic pipe that I want to get rid of what is the best slip on to replace it with ?
The real version of that is a quality can mate if a bit on the quiet side? If you want some noise then a racefit is also very well made and very loud
I nearly bought one in that colour from superbike factory but it had a a problem so ended up with a HRC edition. Always liked the orange though! Enjoy !
As Raphael has already mentioned it depends how noisy you want it. Racefit, Austin Racing or the Akra megaphone are at the noisier end of the scale but all 3 are decent quality. The full size Akrapovic is very good quality and a nice sound without being too noisy, it even looks better in the flesh than it does in the pictures. You will have the headache of infill panels aswell with some exhausts and they can be a minefield in themselves. Some of them fit really poorly. A stock can still looks really good in my opinion but are quite quiet. You'll pick one up fairly cheaply on ebay if you haven't already got one with the bike.
To be fair I have looked at the race fit one they look nice and quite reasonable price. But I Don't like droning that's why I want to get rid of the other one really .
I never thought of austin racing I will check them out thanks what is the problem with infills I haven't come across that yet.
Just that some infills fit better than others. The info will be on here somewhere though. I think some of them need brackets adjusting/making too but nothing major.
Hi and welcome, that's a nice colour scheme. I have had my 2010 about a week and your spot on she performs beautifully although as I found in the wet yesterday you have to be gentle with that instant torque otherwise it all gets a bit clenchy.
