Hey people , Currently looking for a 2006 1000rr radiator. I'm interested in good condition second hand unit or even if anyone has a link to a good fitting one. You have the ebay chibese versions but reading between lines fitment issues seem to be common. Fowlers is listing unit for £850.. wow but thankfully for me I think it's out of stock. Thanks in advance Chris.
This is the one I bought for my RR6 track bike. Fits fine, but that's easy to say with a pretty hollow fibreglass fairing. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402509609909
Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming.ing Moston the ebay generic ones are the same or close. I've found a UK seller. Still be Chinese but delivery alot quicker. Starting to ponder whether mines already a Chinese one. Maybe start a thread and ask the question. Thanks.
Still looking for a radiator. Got one from m&p direct and it was horrendously wrong no fitment whatsoever and 20mm shorter Any decent ones out there? Thanks.
That’s very disappointing to read as I have one on my watch list for the winter jobs I’ve got planned. I assume you can return it with no arguments? Doesn’t make up for the hassle or time wasted.
I'll be honest I phoned them on Sunday to tell them the issue and it was collected yesterday. I'm hoping for refund by end of week. It's abit of inconvenience but there was no chance of even small adaptions to it. It was shorter in length. The brackets where fan mounts were about 1 inch out the brackets at top were wrong angle and because shorter the bracket at bottom would need to be extended I expressed because it was so far out that mayne wrong radiator in the box as box as part number radiator doesn't. They just said no it won't. Return it.
Quite feasible that it is the wrong radiator in the box by the sounds of it. I got my replacement radiator for the RR6 a couple of years ago from M&P. I did have to take a hammer to a couple of the brackets as they weren't aligned quite right etc but with a bit of jiggery pokery it did fit and (touch wood) is still going strong now. Hope you get sorted with a better fitting replacement soon.
Yeah I did mention to them but they just said nope send it back. The radiator didn't have any markings on it just box ap maybe boxed wrong. The brackets at top were off but could be bent a guess. A bracket made up for the shorter bit but the fan was a mile out plus because shorter the standard guard where the overflow pipe runs through wouldn't be useable again. This far out surely different bike.
Is yours a rr5 2006 or an RR6 2006 as the rads and fans are different between the models. I got a cheap Chinese one off of ebay nearly 3 years ago (think it was £90 delivered) for my rr7, was a little short so just fashioned a new bracket but otherwise fitted well and still looking good. Just looked at profile pic and looks like RR6, do they may have wrong rad in box. Years ago I got a sump from main dealer for an escort. Didn't match one I took off but they were convinced they'd supplied right one (with right part number). When they got another one off the shelf was obvious first one was tagged wrongly!
It's an rr6. Even the numbers off it vin frame and engine all match rr6 Yeah all the frame. Engine and vin numbers match up to be a rr6. Think the rr5 slightly more depth in the core itself. Believe it or not this radiator had not a single part number onit. Just came in a box with a label on ot with part number. They have 30 more in stock. I'm going to re phone again as they hadn't received it back today should be latest tomorrow and see if they can compare it to other ones. A mean surely 30 other people won't be contacting them to say its wrong.
If you find one but it’s the other end of the country you could try organising a relay race, I’m sure between us we could cover the length of the UK
