Having recently completed the fitting of my DIY plywood luggage rack I then fitted a universal givi top box plate from my previous bike. And then added a givi top box. And then it was off for a quick ride around North Wales to see if it would all hold together. And luckily it did. Rock solid and little effect on the handling despite some quite high winds and some equally high speeds. Which is more than can be said of the Kawasaki which lost this top box on the road in front of me. Luckily I retrieved it from the road before a car ran it over and the owner returned to collect it after about ten minutes.
Fitted new fairing to the R1, going to add paint protection next as last one was full of chips, after 16000 miles and lots of track days, will keep my old chipped fairing for track days I reckon will fit my tank grips too before going out too. Also fitted adjustable Renthal Clipons, useful for a bit more reach for my 6 foot frame
Gave mine a deep clean today with Muc off foam, polished with good old Mr Sheen and lubed the chain......after a non starter to my season its now time to put some miles on this beast!!! Gave my son Daniel something to aspire to in life also, one day son, you can be just like me!!!!
Gave my son Daniel something to aspire to in life also, one day son, you can be just like me!!!! Blessing or a curse.....
Depends if he wants a Dad bod, receding hair line, greying hair at 46 years of age........but with a Panigale V4 to look at and stroke........and occasionally ride
Today I changed a perfectly good 16T front sprocket for a JT333-15T. Not very interesting, I know. Only remarkable thing - I should have realised that I'd need to adjust the chain afterwards, and I'd need a 32mm socket which I do not currently have So by the time Amazon get here with the new socket it's gonna be raining again
Removed my old Garmin sat nav cable, ridiculous thing with loads of unwanted connections, and replaced it with a simple SAE cable that I can use with a modified Garmin cable and a USB adapter. Managed to lock myself out the house though so didn't manage to finish making the new garmin cable
Rode the R1M first thing this morning 730am great clear roads do it all again in the morning shame sat sun wash out .....we have a street party planned looks really good around here all the bunting up and flags every one taking a table out full of food cakes and one of my neighbours from Jamaica makes a great rum punch .....it comes with a health warning one glass and your definitely not riding the next day....they load me up on it it means the close get a lie in if the bike doesn't start up early in the morning..
Re-routed the Innovv system so the wires don't show. Been getting on my tits being able to see them round the edge of the tank.
Mot out of the way for another 12 months. All was good as expected, though you never know for sure until you get the certificate.
