So when acknowledging another biker do you do a sideways nod, normal nod, stick your leg out or ignore him/her coz they are riding a Suzuki ?
Normally I try a nod in their direction if they're coming towards me. If I'm overtaking them I give a side wave with my left hand. I even do it to scooters in the hope that one day they may decide to ride something that doesn't double up as an egg whisk.
I mostly side nod but normal nod if stopped at a junction etc, but I ride a Suzuki so When I go past a bike I normally put my left leg ok, but will put my left hand out if they have waved me by.
I've just give a subtle nod in their direction. Unless I'm on a road that demands your concentration and I'm getting a wriggle on.......I won't bother as its just a distraction!
If I’m in the back end of nowhere and haven’t seen a soul for hours then I’ll often be the first to wave hello to a fellow bike traveller and be happy doing so. If I have the misfortune to be going somewhere near a biker meeting zone like, say, Matlock Bath, then I will generally wave back to the nodding donkeys for a while until I get totally bored with the whole shenanigans… Hmmm, perhaps I might be becoming a grumpy old man?
Nod everyone when I can apart from deliveroo We where all young once and the little boys and girls love it if you nod Leg out sometimes to riders and drivers
normally do not nod. I reserve this as signals to other vehicles: thank you (nod) give way (left or right). I prefer to concentrate on my own ride. When I do acknowledge is generally by sticking my leg out
What about a gaggle of bikes coming the other way ? Multiple nodding or just one nod for all depending on the spacing? I’m more of a winker and head tilter when it suits
