Anyone use Litelok chains? I had an Almax on my last bike but it was so heavy i couldn’t take it with me to work etc. (it also got the good news from an angle grinder when my bike got stolen). Considering getting Litelok - missus has got one for her pedal bike and it’s pretty decent. Seems to do well in tests as well (couple YouTube vids out there). https://www.litelok.com/collections/motorcycle-locks
There is not much can compete against a proper theft I recon a Cordless grinder with a 1mm disc would make very short work of it
Yeah cordless grinders are the bane of bikers, I have a thick 19mm chain and ground anchor in my garage would take about 12+ mins to cut through, by which time i will be downstairs with my baseball bat and fuck them up, however i will never park my bike where i cant see it away from home, bikes for fun, my car for everything else but then again I have taken early retirement so no need to commute to work and when I was working it was in a car anyway having said that, any lock is better than nothing while out to stop casual thiefs...but my mates son got his bike nicked from a car park while at work, with a chain on, they just cut it and took it, Bastards
My sons R6 bike was taken from inside a storage garage in a locked compound, they then lifted it over a 5 foot fence it had a disc lock on at the time, he did get the bike back with only a slight scratch on the tail, it just shows if someone really wants your bike they will have it, I always keep mine out of sight at home, I never leave it on the drive, and never leave it whilst out. it also has all the usual ground anchor, alarms, dogs, land mines, etc
Unfortunately for me, living in London, safe space is a premium (renting a garage is like renting a flat) and thieving scum are everywhere! Can keep my bike down the side of our flat and behind a locked gate but that means navigating two small sets of steps.. Getting down them backwards is painful.. but can at least ride up them to get out. Have also got myself an ‘Alabama lie detector’ by the front door in case anyone tries it on again..
