"Going Fast", is that the title :D

    I'll have a look.
The facilities at Snetterton are good. Get there the night before and you can kip in the garages. There's plenty of power and a burger van outside that will do you a nice breakfast. If you rock up in the morning then beware that garages fill up fast on a regular track day.

Is that 16th-17th of May you're going @Ritchierich ? I've booked on to the 16th May. Will see you there.

If it were a normal trackday at Oulton I'd be booking inters. How do they divide you up on the JW days? It's my first one. First time at Anglesey aswell.

Middle of May is usually a safe bet weather wise. Fingers crossed.

It's divided up into groups on the day and Inters is aways full, so I went in Fast group as I was doing 1.40 laps but there were slower and faster riders in our group but with only 20 on track at a time, there is loads of track space plus the instructors will give you a debrief after each section on apex's ETC.
Novice would be too slow for you but they can move you around during the day, you'll love it.

Can't wait, need new tyres too which is timed nicely as I can put some decent track rubber on.

Have moved over to slicks now but have been using Michelin Power Cup 2's which a found very grippy on Anglesey and saved swapping wheels when wanting to use the bike on the road as they are road legal.

Booked for the July date. Never done Anglesey and never done JWdays. So a completly new experince. Also on a road bike with road tyres, so will be in the lowest group going. Looking forward to it.

You may need to check on the power situation at Snetterton. MSV are now charging for some uses of their power!

I wouldn't worry about that on bike days. it came up as a topic on TDR and it turns out that MSV have it in the T&C's to charge for caravan hookups and EV charging on car days.

What are your thoughts on the cup 2's if it's piss wet through on the day? No point turning up or can you wobble round on them?

Cup 2 are a great tyre, super grippy, closest thing to a slick you can use on the roads. Great on track as long as you maintain the correct tyre pressure (HOT). However your not going to be banking it over if it's wet Charlie but useable. Luckily I have a spare set of wheels so have Power GP's for the wet and Slicks for the dry.
I have done wet track days on the Cup 2's but didn't stay out long and that was at Oulton Park, 2 wheel drift and then straight into pits for clean underwear. :-(

That's my predicament, gamble on dry weather and put the cups on or play safe and put the GP's on.

The Power GP's are OK as a track tyre but I found with Anglesey been a grippy track the right hand side of the tyre took quite a beating but were OK for the whole of the track day.

You all ready for Tuesday @Ritchierich ? I'll probably start obsessing over weather forecasts after today.

We've still over a week to go, however I've already been looking at long range forecast, just hope it stays dry for us. Bike not fully serviced and ready for the track day. :)
