Another new member here but I don't have a Fireblade (yet). Working on it.

Based in Lincs just 5 miles from Cadwell Park :D I've ridden a few sports bikes in my time - GSXR750, Ducati 1198S, Panigale, and lastly an S1000RR Sport.

For some crazy reason I got rid of the beemer but don't like my current ride anywhere as much (Triumph Speed Twin; I know apples and oranges but I am of a more "mature" persuasion supposedly).

I am craving the thrills of a sports bike again and am looking at model years 2012-16 (non-ABS) and 2019. I've got reservations about the 17-18MY (fuelling especially).

I've already got some great advice here whilst lurking and I look forward to being a member here.

Also got some questions but I will always use the search button first!

    Hi and welcome.

Search button on the forum is fairly crap, if you don't find what you need using that you can always do a search on Google but add "+1000rr.co.uk" after your search term. That will give you all results from the forum.

Welcome to the forum @duck holliday and good luck finding the right bike!

Can't really go wrong with any model old or new so long as its clean and been looked after! Nowt wrong with the fueling on 17-18 models either, people complained about snatchiness or lurching at low revs while pootling around town (which you could say about any bike), but that's not how your supposed to ride them anyway. Wind the throttle on on a long and twisty road and they're as smooth as butter! ;)

Cheers @PauloHRC thanks for this information. I've been wondering whether the 17-18 models were burdened by the weight of expectation from the the faithful. Perhaps it's time for a re-appraisal!

Welcome to this forum, being newbie hope so you will not face any hurdle. No worries if you don't have Fire blade, I don't have Harley too which I wished for :D. Your Triumph Speed Twin isn't as bad enough, perhaps your experience wasn't as amazing as it should be. While Triumph speed twin have high quality 900cc engine along with comfortable seat and easy posture.

Thanks for your welcome! I think the Speed Twin is lovely but I don't find the posture that easy - for me. I like a more aggressive stance. It is just too sedate, especially after previous bikes - the S1000RR in particular.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I have a 2017 blade, and the throttle is fine. Can't go wrong with a Fireblade.
