Watched a You Tube the other day which I now can't find. Guy had a hyperdermic syringe which he mixed a couple of liquids in to make a light blue liquid, just a small squirt on well rusted bolts got them free in seconds rather than minutes. Any ideas what it might have been? Should have made a note.
A load of rubbish I'm guessing, unless the bolts we're not that stuck. Loads of heat is the only way to release stubborn nuts and bolts. General penetrating fluids help but nothing will soak down the threads far enough to make that much difference, and that is what my pal who has been restoring classic and American cars for nearly 50 years has always stood by
Ok thanks. Thought it was too good to be true. It was one of those bike restoration jobs, Czech Republic I think.
I have been told vinegar dissolves rust, never tried it, I am like the rest, if you have a rusted bolt put on penetrating oil then impact gun, if that don't work its the blow torch
Acetone and automatic transmission fluid. It doesn't work that quick. But there's loads of fakers on YouTube.
