I think you’ve been quite economic there, getting used stuff helped of course, props to you, but I do have to ask about the £72 for tyre changes.

This is why I decided to learn to do that myself. That and the fact the nearest people to me that can do bike tyres (KTM Tewkesbury) told me to piss off.

Also wrt road tax, I’ve taken to SORN’ing one or both my bikes when I’m not going to ride them that month. I’m at that point where I’ve decided I already pay enough taxes.

oh and how did you get warmers for £60? Did you get half of one? :D

So we put the other 'blade that i was going to buy into a garage to get its MOT and change the scrubs for some new road tyres. They did the change and then contacted (in a helpful way) and said that there was a lot to be done to get it on the road and it would be costly. When we picked it up it was £72...to change the tyres.

The warmers were on Facebook marketplace second hand but only used 3 times...bargain. I will be putting it on soon once i pack it off to Spain. But want to get some miles on it first to get used to it; hence the tax

Definitely a bargain. I was gonna buy some new, cheapest I found were £150 that seemed to do what I want. Not expensive, some cost about two grand

I taxed the Ducati yesterday, so I could basically ride it for half an hour on Sunday after I was changing wheels. Needs a post-winter shakedown before it goes on the track, maybe in April.
Once that comes around I’ll tax the blade and sorn the Ducati. Then the blade will be my “road bike” for the rest of the season. At least that’s the plan.

    Hey Edy, i used:

    https://assuretonsport.com/en/online-quotation/

Formula 2 comes highly recommended by lots of regular track guys and when i spoke to Assureton they said Formula 2 was what i needed.

They were extremely helpful too as i really needed/wanted to know i was buying the right stuff for my FE event in April.

i used to juggle my hayabusa, BMW GS, and other bike (now the 'blade) but tend to just insure for 6 months so that i can just jump on and off as i want; a little extravagant i know but not too expensive. I will probably soon the 'blade when i get back from Spain and ride the 'busa through the season, keeping the 'blade configured for the next track event.

I would budget £500 for a UK trackday once you factor in circuit cost, tyres, fuel, brake pads, overnight accomodation and regular underwear replacement.
