Hi, Looking at my first 1000 got a CBR650r today (great bike BTW). I am looking at a 2016 black edition (its the 2014-2016 model), but I have read about the ABS issues, does this model have that ABS system or the better Bosch system. Don't even want to consider no stopping power... Thanks Mark
That model will have the dodgy c-abs system on it so my advice is to steer well clear. I had a 16 non abs black edition and @Boothman has the same. A lot of the black editions I've seen for sale have been non abs so if you want that particular one I'm sure one will crop up at some point.
I've just had a quick look and there's several non abs black editions for sale including this one https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bikes-for-sale/honda/cbr1000rr-fireblade/100058407/
I am selling my one 2011 with no ABS price negotiable if you want to take a look https://www.gumtree.com/p/honda-motorbikes/honda-cbr-2011-999-cc-fireblade/1452430211
Hi Mark the black bikes were available for a number of years (both with and without the dodgy ABS) the Black Edition was only available for 2016 and all were none ABS - the main reason I got mine. Last of the analogue blades and absolutely love it.
Thats the one I was looking at.....I have asked the dealer if it has ABS or not and waiting for a reply
What are people's thoughts on this one? looks good to me exhaust etc already upgraded and 5k on the clock?
It doesn't have abs. You can tell by the underseat tray. It looks nice from the pics and low mileage. I had that exhaust on mine, it sounds lovely. And you can get a removable baffle for it too.
I was going to buy a black abs until I done some reading and then ended with this 2016 like boothman last of the analogue and I love it You will not be disappointed
This was my black edition....identical to the one you're looking at. As it already comes with a few trick bits, all I I had to do was pop engine covers on, radiator guard and remove the pillion pegs. I also had it remapped and a QS.
That is the big thing I just don’t understand that Honda would fit a fake rear hugger I brought a real carbon one because I couldn’t handle it
