Cleaned the bike a few weeks ago with muck off bike wash and a snow foam and put it away went out today and noticed staining on the gearbox and engine covers any advice on how to remove staines tried the same cleaning products and a few others but nothings worked?0
Did you rinse it off properly, sounds a daft question but it looks like you've sprayed it on and left it
Muckoff is pretty much tfr based so will just keep going on ally if not fully removed. Possibly GT85 might lift it or cutting compound ( t cut , autosol ect ) but could be looking at a repaint. Good luck with it.
Snow foam and TFR is unfortunate way to corrosive for motorcycles Unless used correctly.You only need a small amount of residue thats not properly rinsed off and it will stain anything it comes into contact with. Seen this all to often and very difficult to rectify especially on bare metals… not sure what the best solution is in your case, looks permanently damaged
I had a similar problem with my old blade so what I did was re wash it with Motul bike wash then rinsed well and while it was still wet I sprayed all the casings liberally with Autoglym vinyl and rubber care and left them to dry naturally overnight no toweling off and the next morning they were like new with a lovely shine
I use bilt hambert snow foam with a pump sprayer on wheels and lower parts of the bike including the engine. No such staining issues
Muck off is a bit too strong IMO and needs to be used with caution especially around bare metals. Muck off is more of a degreaser for general TFR use Bilt Hamber Snow Foam at 4%PIR
I had the same happen with muck off on my painted rear pegs Will never use it again Had to polish it out
Must sya I used the original muc off pink for many years without any issue. I was very mild. I since switched to bilt hambert snow foam
