I have only just passed my MOT today because the rear pads are down to 1mm Easy, ill just order some from amazon but no, you can only find hundreds of brands you have never heard of, no sign of genuine parts. off to sportbikeshop, not genuine but they have Brembo, which come in five flavours, some are race only, some road only, but which do you choose? They all have the exact same description, just different colours. even better, they are all on a 3 week delivery! Use the part number and that brings up all sorts of different pads. Why is it so hard with bikes? Cars, dead easy, online part catalogue, part number, you can get the part you need, with a bike, you need the planets aligned and a witch doctor photo because I felt like it, and it always makes me smile
I fitted SBS rst pads to the front and they’re brilliant on both road and track. I bought the same for my Ducati too. When I need rear pads for either bike I’m also gonna buy the SBS. Btw - Ive got the same colour blade as you
i have calmed down a bit now, bought EBC double H pads from Demon Tweeks, £17 the dodgy amazon ones were all £30 plus I always try and buy genuine pads and discs, after totally ruining a car fitting after market brakes, they were Brembo I think, and they were so noisy it was silly. I'll even pay BMW prices to avoid that mistake again cant say I have heard of SBS brakes, im sure its a lottery if you get something decent these days
oh, and its the best colour I always wanted a repsol, but saw mine in the shop and it was a bit like 'shut up and take my money' but not at that price lol
well, I have tried to fit the new ones but the caliper is seized onto the slider pin and I cant get it to shift at all, probably explains the uneven pad wear though
Going through a very similar situation for the RR-R.. Likely will just order direct from Honda which are also Brembo branded but no idea on the model / spec. They've been great for me so at least I know they'll be spot on. Did look at SBS, they're about 1/2 the price but no idea if I'm even looking at the correct stuff Easier to just bite the bullet and spend on manufacturer's recommendation. You should be able to find your part number and costs here, might be worth a look to compare? https://www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda-motorcycle Hope that helps!
SBS pads blow the oem ones out of the water. It’s quite easy to pick the right ones. Use the bike selector on the sbs website then put that into google/eBay. I recommend the RS or RST pads, if you are road only or mixed road and track. There may be better pads for racing (EBC GPFAX or Brembo Z04s) but cost 3 or 4x as much. If you’re still stuck tell me what bike and I’ll find them for you.
