I do not know what fully comes with the starter motor, if it was a car you would suspect the Bendix, but when I stated starter, this includes the drive train to the engine, The starter is obviously dropping out of drive to the engine for one reason or another

After my fuel pump carry-on last year I'm quick to suspect the little yellow gremlin box these days. (for everything! )
It's the dude with all the black and white wires coming out of it. The connectors can be loose on the pins of the bridge. You have to pop them all(and the bridge) out and check their fit individually.
Sounds like your relays are getting power but if you were missing the feed to the sidestand switch or cdi......
Might have nothing to do with it. Like I say, I'm awfy quick to point blame at the little bastard - have never seen anything like it before with the capacity to create so many problems.

Did your fella check all of the starter gears there are a few ? Sprag clutch might look fine whilst fingering it but under load is another thing.

    Make sure it's not flooded?

Was there any cam chain rattle when it was running?

Why do you need to link to an unrelated site that you keep pushing?

I’m considered a fairly tolerant and rational person, however at the risk of destroying my reputation I must ask you a serious question.

Why don’t you just piss off?

    Hey guys,

So day two on track, the on-site technicians were able to fix my bike and get it to start. New starter motor and replaced the clutch starter gear (sprag gear), they worked on it until midnight the day before the event started and again from 05:00on the first day. However, the bill was 1259 Euros (£1118) - not the start the i wanted to my first time on track.

Thanks for all the advice and the concern as well.

First time on track and it's mind-blowing!!! I'm not the fastest but not the slowest either. There are ridiculously powerful and pricey bikes here and a few other Fireblade owners or ex owners who always come over and chat. Great community.

    Thanks again guys

    Mike (aka AbuJane)
