When you buy a R1M you get a YRE day thrown in I should of done Silverstone when I bought mine in 2021 but it hissed down so didn't get out Yamaha have remembered and invited me to Mugello to take part ....I'm so looking forward to it ..not taking my bike but will ride a track prepared Cresent Yamaha .
I know it was one of the reasons I went for the brand ....at Silverstone we had a Q@A with ohallaran and Mckenzie and James Hiller was on our table for lunch he's a great guy he went out on wets on that day impressive how they grip but not for me as my bike was one day old! Yamaha people on hand to answer any questions about electronics what does what etc....
I think that should be a conditional part of sale nowadays seeing that most of the new superbikes cost 20k + lol
New tyre day. A set of Road 5s. Haven't tried any other tyres on the TV4 other than Supercorsa's so am hoping these are good.
Can you tell us a bit about your tire changer ? From what little I can see, it doesn't look like any that I've seen before and I've look at a lot of them; and built several myself. It looks like it's made to be used on the ground or on the bench. And, it has a duckhead and that alone steps it up a notch in my book.
It's a Constands tyre changer from Motea. Great bit if kit and makes changing tyres a doddle to do. The duckhead piece is plastic so doesn't scratch the wheel. So far I have changed 4 tyres with it and I can honestly say it's brilliant. I paid £135 for it, delivered from Germany and there was no taxes to pay. Did my brother's S22s on the big Zed yesterday.
I did S22s myself with tyre levers. What a pita. The sidewalls on Bridgestones are very stiff. I’m either gonna get one of these changers or switch to Pirelli corsas
The 2007 needed a service so did the oil and brake/clutch fluid. Found some seepage in the coolant hose connections so drained the system and cleaned up those connections. Fitted some fibreglass race fairings I bought second hand on ebay. Fitted some PP rearsets. Thought all this would take a couple of hours but due to the coolant leaks and poorly fitting fairings was closer to five.
Went for a blast, then ordered some new boots for it. Currently have a Metzeler M9rr on the back that has done about 3.5k, and an M7rr on the front that has done just over 7k. Both are close to flat on the TWI so not much more left on them.
Defo agree. Pictures speak a thousand words. Just gave the Ape a service before we leave for the NC500 tour on Friday.
Decided I hadn’t wasted any money recently on the bike, so ordered this new carbon fibre seat cowl from across the pond. Got HONDA RACING mirror chrome stickers made up by carbon_vixen_decals on eBay (who were really helpful and I can’t praise highly enough). Very happy with the results
Fitted the best levers on the market and started the long process of changing all the bolts to titanium.
Refitted the wheels that I got round to painting at last. Farewell Repsol orange. They also got new bearings and the back got a fresh disk and pads too.
