Happy New year fellow Bladers.... I am thinking of giving the bike a good bit of TLC. Previous fairings have been easy to remove, but i hear that the RR-R fairings are a bit of a bitch?? Any pointers from anyone before I jump in? TIA
Warm the plastic a bit if you can, it's less likely to break. Get a copy of the service manual. Chapter 2 deals with removing and reinstalling the body panels.
Trying to get a Service manual is like Hen's Teeth ...... I asked Crescent Honda in Southampton and they don't even have one....
That's a bit worrying if you take your bike there for a service. Maybe they just don't have one to sell. I found a guy selling them online through the American 1000rr.net forum. It cost me about £30.
I don't suppose you have his details? I have just joined the US site. Just found your message to him, so i will try too
I found a YouTube video super helpful taking mine apart a while back (it's in Japanese but still helped - - most annoying was the middle fairing that holds the wing which can be seen at 4:12 or so) Service manual is definitely useful, worth the purchase.
Had to get mine from America, think it was around 70 quid including postage, but can't remember for the life of me which website I got it from, sorry.
I believe Ritchierich and I got them from the same place, found my order emails, enjoy! https://www.service-shop-repair-man...e-sp-part-61mkr00-service-shop-repair-manual/ Seller is about to see a lot of business now, I'm sure. From what I recall, was very quick, no import duty, around £70, and tracked via USPS (unsure what it changed to once it arrived in the UK) Edit: bear in mind this is for the SP model but it does mention both standard and SP throughout
I remember considering the same but the physical copy worked out nicely for me - nice and easy to use with grubby hands in the garage
Hi. I'm looking to do some bits and need a wiring diagram so if you could PM where to get the service manual that would be great. Thanks
