Does it? Or is it just the cam chain tensioner?

How did they come to that diagnosis?

How much did they charge to tell you that?

Technicaly the chain makes the noise but it's down to the tensioner not working correctly.
Where you quoted a price and what would be done?

People are actually trying to help you.
This could probably take you 2 hours and cost between 40 and 80 pounds. You'd spend more time dropping it off and picking it up.

    Yes I know cheers
I'm just worried it could be something else wrong,it doesn't do it when it's cold, then rattles like a bitch when it's warm.

Sounds like a typical CBR cam chain tensioner issue - easily diagnosed to those that have suffered it, or a decent mechanic.

Equally easy to scare unsuspecting punters into replacing more than needed, ie the chain.

The only way to tell if the chain and guide plate need replacing is when the engine is in bits - not just by listening to it.

The idea of coming to a forum is to ask for opinions and share knowledge - open up a bit and we might save you a dew hundred quid.

I’d be gutted spending all that on labour when it’s just a 30 or so quid part you can do yourself in an hour.each to there own though, hope he don’t bend you over to far

As above, more likely to be the Camchain Tensioner than the actual Camchain. Blades are well known for it.

CCT expensive new from Honda, but you can save a few quid if you are not in a rush for delivery (e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155042038256 ).

I fitted a manual CCT on my 05 blade, worked a treat, cam chains should last more than 19k I would have thought?
