    Hi all,

Got a track day coming up soonish so need to find a brake lever guard for my 2006 cbr1000rr

Currently have the stock bar end inserts with some fairly nice r&g ends which I intend to keep using.

I bought some cheap brake lever guards off ebay which fit with the expanding insert style. I was hoping to be able to make an adaptor for these to fit onto the stock Honda bar inserts. I didn't realise the inserts are free to spin and so the brake lever guard isn't secure with the adaptor I made.

Far as I can tell have two options:

Specific brake lever guard which fits into the stock bar inserts (haven't seen these available?)

Or take out the stock insert to fit the guard for the track day. However I'd like to be able to use my current bar ends again so is there a way to refit the inserts? Everything I've seen suggests once they're out its hard to get them back in....

    Any suggestions welcome....

AFAIK the standard bar inserts should grip, allowing the bar end to bolt into them? In which case you should be able to buy a really long M6 bolt to attach the chinesium lever guards with.

Cheers for the response. I'm able to bolt the guard into the insert as there's just enough resistance. But once it's bolted on you can just push on the end of the guard and it will spin round the bar insert inside...
