Hi All Switching insurers and to qualify with new insurer I need to join a paid for bike club where you get a membership number. Was thinking about the VJMC, but anyone have any to recommend? Cheers Mike
Will joining a club at a cost cancel out any savings you might make by switching insurers?? The Garstang Car Park Bog Biker Club are highly thought of though, decent set of lads, helpful, friendly and willing!! No charge to join, but you do get a free pair of George Michael style policeman's sunglasses! ........but to qualify for those, you do have to pass an initiation test!
yep, BeMoto keep messing me about and and say mileage has to be limited to 1999 a year. Also they were sneaky bastards and removed the carbon wheels from my list of modifications when they sent my renewal quote without notifying me. So not sure my renewal quote is even valid. Their other underwriters won’t cover me as I’ve got carbon wheels. So even the cost of joining a club it’s still cheaper and the insurance cover is better with unlimited mileage. In the future I’ll prob just replace the carbon wheels with some aluminium ones, so it’s less of a pain.
Been insured with them since 2018, had the same mods since then, nothings changed. So no idea why it’s such a problem now. They’ve not even changed the underwriter, so assume the underwriter has changed their terms. I think they’ll have a few people leaving them this year.
I'm with Bemoto also but not had any negative experience with them.......so far! And then there's the matter of do you or don't you declare mods? I admire your honesty in declaring mods, especially the carbon wheels as they're a big investment! Personally I've never declared mods in 22 years but its mainly be exhausts! You takes your chances i guess
Yeah to be fair they have been good all the previous years, maybe removing the mod was just a mistake. I think as there’s quite a few mods I’d prob not get away with it if I had an accident or it got nicked. They didn’t make a massive difference to the price before. Most of it was all done before I got it. I haven’t tended to bother on previous bikes if it’s just stuff like an exhaust etc.
