Ok all, I am due to leave the Submarine Service next year after 32 yrs, so my dilemma is, Do I buy a full race exhaust for the bike along with a full ECU flash? (The bike only has 3500 miles on it). Do I treat myself to a new 2024 Fireblade?. Do i save my money and make do?. So please feel free to enlighten me with your Pros and Cons...... Jay
Hey. Put the extra money in investments. You have a cracking bike already, and the new one is not massively different. If you want to spend money, then I would go for option 1. But you do you.
The 2024 Fireblade does look nice, and I'm sure the changes they have made will improve the bike, but you're probably looking at £10k to change. Given you track your bike, I'd be inclined to go with the full system and a map. The 2020 Fireblade is still a hell of a bike.
If you're not sure then leave it until something really catches your eye. If you are sure then do it. Used to work with an ex-fish head, you lot are a right funny breed, make squaddies look civilised!
Happy with Standard Suspension..... i had the electronic suspension on the Gen 4 BMW..... Hated it...... already had the suspension set-up
do you want more power? followed by why; unless you want to go racing. enjoy the bike and ride it save your money for maintenance
I'd keep hold of what you've got and go for option 1 .....you're hardly 'making do' with your 2020 with very low mileage!! Lucky you retiring at 52!!
Hold on to what you've got (unless you have good reason to change). I have a 2007 and rode an SP2 - yes lovely bike but got back on mine and thought why change, for what I've got and £18k!!!!! The bike I have has the looks I like and feels right - a new Fireblade doesn't do enough for me to change (but then again I have an M1000R to play with as well!!). Honestly though, if you like your bike already, either keep as is or spend a few thousand on suspension and wheels - you won't regret it
Will you pass noise testing on track with full race system? I'd keep your blade, leave it be and buy a new bike, something completely different. Little naked or retro to compliment it.
I’d go full system,custom map, lightweight wheels and better suspension, all of which are less than a new bike.

Option 2, New 2024 Fireblade then they'll be no need to upgrade your current bike and what's more you'll love what Honda have done with the bike since you bought yours's. For me, going from the 2020 to the 2022 Blade, you could certainly feel the differences between the 2 bikes, 2022 loads better.
A mate once told me buy the newest you can afford because you would not realise how much a bike will change in so little time
