New to me 2018 SP, manky oil drips!

Hi all,

I've just bought a lovely 2018 SP, took it for a quick ride on Sunday and then noticed this:

It looks like very contaminated oil, and initially I thought it was coming from one of the breather hoses, but actually I think it might be dripping onto the outside of the hoses. The oil in the engine is pristine, and looks to be about the right level - although the bike was cold when I checked the level.

Has anyone had this before?

Chain oil! They don't last long without it.

 

Do you think it's just been lubricated with gear oil and that's flicking off?

 

Gear oil is about the best thing for the chain. I use gear oil in a scottoiler. A little mess but easy to wipe off.

 

Looks like they have used to much gear oil on the chain.

I use wurth dry chain lube, no mess and my chain has done 12k up to now and still going strong
