Hi I have just bought a RR7 and I do not understand the manual section on the rev red zone setting. Can someone help and tell me the purpose of this function? Also don't understand the REV indicator indication pattern of lights. Do you set the light pattern to gear change revs? Hope someone can explain better than the manual. Thanks

What do you mean my sequence of lights ? There is no gear change indicator .

The red means your revving the tits of it and and it's not best to keep it there , RED for Danger ??

Maybe my post was not clear, but in my owners manual, pages 31 - 33 it covers the Rev red zone indicator and light sequence possible. I don't understand what it means, it says that you can set red zone from 4000 rpm - 1200rpm range. Also about the light indicator pattern on page 33. It's probably obvious but can anyone make me a little wiser. thanks.

Dono if that's much help to you buddy! But good luck with your enlightenment

Hi Mara, I have a 06 so same as yours. You can set the lights on the REV indicator to operate between the 4000 rpm range to 12200 rpm. It is nothing more than a visual indicator to let you know you have hit the Rev level you have preset. As far as I am aware it does nothing more than that. So if you decided you never wanted to rev your bike past 10000 revs the lights would come on to let you know you were there.

As for the lights 'settings', it just lets you choose between the lights flashing slowly or quickly and how bright you want the lights to be.

I pay no attention to mine at all, if I am revving near the 12000 mark I need my eyes firmly on the road :) I sometimes just take a quick glance to see what revs I am at prior to an overtake to see if I need to change up.

To be honest mate, you will soon get to hear where you are on the rev range, I seldom rev mine past 11500 as there isn't much power left after there. Hope that helps. If I am wrong on anything I apologise, there are some great experts on here.

Welcome to the forum. It can also be used when you just bought a new bike and running it in. To settle revs lower helping you to run the engine in with Lower revs

I should give a bit of background info on myself. Had a full licence some 34 years, but came back to bikes a couple of years ago, buying a Bandit 1200. But always wanted a sports bike, so mid life crisis, very understanding wife, and space in the garage allowed me to get a 2007 Blade in mint condition with only 4000 miles. Yippee. summer here we come.
