I use did xring and steel afam sprockets. In the past have found JT rear to be a little off center giving inconsistent chain tension. Also the thought of JT makes me cringe.
Rental rear and genuine Honda front.Tried Tsubaki chains not fussed on them so stick to DID now a bit lighter and seem better made plus no solid link to mess about with
I did some research on chains before ending up with RK. It seems that 20k is a lot to get out of any chain. Supposedly, top-shelf D.I.D. chains can last longer. My 'blade also came with a factory RK chain, which I presume to be O-ring. It was rusted and kinked by 17k miles. I'm betting the previous owner must have pressure washed the bike, which blew the seals out.
honda OEM which is RK ~23k still in excellent condition minimum chain adjustment. The seals look like X ring In terms of sprockets, have a look at JT
just because it’s on the leathers doesn’t mean that’s what’s on the bike! I can assure you there’s no resemblance between the stock and what they use as I get my chains off those race bikes.
Back to this again I haven’t brought them yet but I was just checking mine and it is 15 front sprocket and 43 rear Now the book says 16 front and 42 rear What difference would this make if any???
Engine rpm it higher for smaller front sprocket and going bigger on the rear sprocket is maybe to keep the speedometer calibration. You can find it n line tools to find out the overall gearing difference between 15+43 and 16+42
If it's anything other than stock it messes the speedometer a bit. Mine came with a smaller front trading top speed down for more torque to the wheel (like I don't need 200mph all that often). I got tired with doing the offsets in my head and put a Healtech box on it.
