Hi, looking at getting bike to bike comms as my lad now is starting to ride so it would be good to talk to him whilst riding. Not long chatty conversations - but the occasional "look out for that" or "slow down" or "grit on road" etc etc.....

Don't really want to spend a fortune but looking for something that will work reliably over short distances. Need something that will auto engage so voice activation is essential.

We both got iPhone if there is an app that works using BT for comms.

I have the Sena SMH5D-UNIV for me and my pillion and it’s been fine for the three years since I got them. Never done bike to bike, but out of interest recently checked how far away we could communicate. With line of sight it was around 350m but with buildings between I’d say that halved.

Went from a sena s20 evo to cardo pack talk bold and found it a much better unit, the sena isn’t waterproof for a start and will fail if used in the rain at some point.
The pack talk is a little newer than the s20 but still old tech now so maybe better looking at the Cardo edge?

+1 for Cardo. Make sure you check the spec of the various models as it's very easy to overspend on features you don't need.

If it will only be a couple of you don't worry about mesh etc.

I’ve not found the non mesh units to anything like as good as the mesh units. So I’d recommend finding old stock Packtalk bold
