Hi all, Recently fitted a healtech quickshifter harness, changed spark plugs and air filter - I appear to be left with one screw like an idiot, any ideas where this screw belongs? I've had tank cover off, whole airbox out, both side fairings off, but cannot even remember removing it to be honest so not sure where it's from, hoping someone recognises it! 2011 cbr1000rrb Thanks in advance
Difficult to pin point exactly where its from but I don't think its anything under the tank or around the engine. With it having that collar under the head of the screw, it would make me think its a fairing or body work fastener. Whats throwing me is that its a cross head screw, nearly all the fasteners are allen heads from what I can remember. Check chain guard, hugger, front mudguard, seat unit fixings etc. Good luck!
Hi thanks yeh it has me a bit baffled, as you said looks very fairing, possibly sensor type screw with the shoulder, and agree it's unusual the crosshead, only seems to be the self tapping screws and the seat securing screws that I've ever noticed being crosshead. I've even scoured the honda microfiche for every area I've had apart and can't locate it on there either!
Yes thanks I've since found it, right hand side of headlight assembly hidden away behind the air duct fairing. Thanks for the quick responses and help
Dont think so......never had a bike that had cross head screws holding seat on in 24 years and 14 bikes !!
Beg to differ. 2015 RA After a big repair session, interrupted by illness, I lost one. The centre frame is the one I had left and the replacement I made. There was/is a stubby cross-head driver in the toolkit and I suspect this is the only thing it fits. Yes I turned it from 13mm hex bar and 'drilled' an Allen key hole in the end.
