Todays service

    IMG_5252.jpeg So I took the old repslow for its service today , 16 plate 14,800 miles me the one and only owner . Needed the dreaded brake fluid change . Abs and apparently the worst one to do (e caps ) whatever that means . So for the service and brake fluid doing was all day job and cost me £750 on a plus’s point had a brand new 600rr fort day (lotta fun) got drenched picking my blade up at closing time coming home . What’s annoying is they’ve had all the panels off , radiator off etc etc to get to one of the abs modules . Anyway now I spotted on the way home . The clutch cable is now straight across all the bank of warning lights on the dash . So I can’t see indicators , abs light , fuel light or even the most annoying the green neutral light . Tried pushing the cable down but springs back to where it’s at now . Very annoying I’m assuming there is a clamp behind the radiator. Dunno if it’s another trip back to Honda . Anyone any idea . Below is a pic , dunno if it should be under the ignition or in front of it ?

    It’s through that bracket mate , just the cable has a massive arc on it straight across all the warning lights etc …

    Sounds like they’ve gone inside where they should have gone outside somewhere when routing the cable. If it helps, you can show the garage this for how it should look

    Looks like the cable is too long to me.

    Not sure whether its supposed to be routed under or over but it wouldn't do that if it was shorter !

    A 750 quid service and they can’t even put it back together properly,classic main dealer that

    What did you actually get for £750? Valve clearances, any large items?

    don't you just hate it when you get your vehicle back with things not put back properly.
    From many years, I have done my own inspection on my car or bike after it has been in a workshop and always find having to put things right.

    what happened to quality control & workmanship??

    Turns out the Honda Technician didn’t put the clutch cable back in a clip , behind the right hand side fairing , it was to the wrong side of clip , letting cable flex up and over the warning lights

    nowadays, this is what you get when you pay a "professional" mechanic to screw up your bike!

    It just basic stuff though, its not even a difficult job especially for someone who could have done this particular job multiple times!!

    I always take a picture of any job I undertake on my bike or car, helps for putting things back together especially if you're not completing the work in the same day......maybe the 'professionals' should start doing so!! :rolleyes:

    Forgot to mention , Honda current labour charge per hour =£90. I’d be very surprised if the guy doing the job is getting more than £15 per hour

    Another reason to go to a specialist instead of a stealer, they are fully trained and like to do things to a higher standard they aren’t allowed to at a main dealer, also earning what they are trained to.
