I hope this is the right area to document this process. I have been researching for a while as my 2010 CBR1000RR has had the whine and some burning issues. I figured if I got the right deal I might as well get a swap going and take the running 2010 motor for a fun project or salvage it for some money back. At first I was led to believe the only drop in motor was a 08-16, then I ran across some people who successfully transplanted the 2017/2018 SC77 motors in, while using all 08-11 harness/electronics. That begged the question if I could use a SC77 from 2023 bikes, as in the US the SC77 is still put in the base model (not sure about EU). After comparing, I could not find any reason it wouldn't be the same transplant the others did. That is of course when last week a listing popped up on Ebay, a 2023 SC77 motor with 5K miles on it, beautiful condition, for an amazing price. The free shipping is really what made me impulsively hit the buy it now button. So that is that. In short, this thread is going to document me putting a 2023 SC77 engine using everything else from my 2010 blade (TB's, ECU, harness, etc.). In theory this motor should be the same as those 2017/2018 SC77's that were successfully transplanted. I have found nothing to show me otherwise. I will get some pictures coming very soon, and updates as I go along. I plan to knock it out in a weekend, motor should be arriving tomorrow, if RevZilla is on time with their shipments of a few other things, this next weekend should be go time.
