I have a 09 C-ABS , I have the original exhaust fitted . I notice a mate who has a 2011/12 C-ABS 1000rr has an Oem exhaust also . However his has a nice grille / cover attached . Where as mine does not. My question is , are the 2009 and 2011/12 exhaust ( tail pipe section ) the same specs ie the internals , they look identical apart from the grill / cover on the newer model . Both exhaust have the 02 sensor fitted in the same place also on the tail pipe section Do they both have a cat fitted in the tail pipe section? I have also looked on Honda parts online and it seems even though they look same sizes they have different part numbers . Any help or advice appreciated Thanks
I know they sometimes change the size of the connection pipework, so if you can check that it is the same its worth a try, I bought a standard 2014 good cond for £25 as a spare, so even if it does not fit it's not the end of the world if you can get one cheap, someone else may know better, the disagree vote would probably been more helpful with an explanation?
The 09 and 12 are different bikes, the latter being the one with the 'grill' exhaust heat shield cover. 2012....... 2009........
the OEM exhaust were prone to rusting because of poor paint finish. The cover outside is partly to mask this. I looked at this years back but ended up having my original exhaust ceramic coated. Much better than the poor paint on the OEM I think thebore is different to 2009 but you can get suitable coupleing rings.
If you look on the Racefit site, the range seems to go from 08 to 11 then 12 to 16 so I assume they fit differently
none of the Racefit pipes go from 08 to 12 so after 11 there must be a difference, so if you find an 11 exhaust you should be ok
08-11 have a 50mm inlet pipe and then from 12-16 have a 60mm one. I bought an Austin Racing slip on for my last 09 and had to make an adapter for it to fit.
My bike is a 63 plate 2013 I have checked my spare std pipe and it is 50mm, I have had it on the bike to see how much difference between std and Racefit the low down power is a bit better with the std but I now have a Rapid bike evo fuel system so runs ok
